MIP Presents Communication Campaign "Your Profession--Your Choice"
On 23 April 2019, a press conference on the presentation of the communication campaign of the Ministry of Information Policy "Your Profession--Your Choice" was held at the press centre of Ukrinform, a news agency.
The campaign includes five videoclips to be proposed for broadcasting as public social advertising on TV channels, at cinemas, and on the Internet.
The presentation will include a series of videoclips about gender equality, dealing with the gender pay gap, and countering stereotypes about professions. The videos were produced in support of the State Social Programme for Ensuring Equal Rights and Opportunities of Men and Women for 2021.
"Over the last five years, the development of Ukrainian society clearly shows that women have an extremely strong potential, which was underestimated for many years. And, perhaps, among post-Soviet nations, Ukraine is in the lead in terms of engaging women in active social and political, cultural, economic, and arts processes, showing that it is the right and logical thing to do, which will eventually bring about powerful transformations and a more harmonised and balanced society," the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, was quoted as saying.
She stressed that promoting gender equality was one of the Ministry's priorities.
Other speakers at the press conference included Kateryna Levchenko, the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy; Iryna Suslova, an MP, Head of the Sub-Committee for Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination; and Anton Komiakhov and Oleksii Huz, authors of the videos.
