MIP Participates in COREX 2018 Command Post Exercises
It is the second year in succession that the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine is participating in COREX 2018 (Coherent Resilience 2018), command post exercises on ensuring the sustained functioning of various state structures during crises. This year, COREX is held at the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with the support of the Embassy of the United Kingdom.
On 8 October 2018, the Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Dmytro Zolotukhin, spoke at the COREX 2018 opening. He stressed it was important events of such a level were held against the backdrop of Russian hybrid aggression.
“One of the key goals of COREX 2018 is to be communication of state officials and maintaining ties in the future to rapidly respond and make decisions in crisis situations,” Mr Zolotukhin was quoted as saying.
A round table was held as part of the event, where Oleksiy Tarabukin, Head of the Sector for Strategic Communications of the Ministry, made a speech “Developing Crisis Communication Capabilities and Ukraine’s Information Security: The Activity of the Ministry of Information Policy”.
“The crisis communication system needs renewing in accordance with modern threats that our country has been faced with, including the issues of cybersecurity,” said Mr Tarabukin.
COREX 2018 lasts four days. Divided into three groups, the participants work out three respective scenarios of ensuring resilience of various state structures during crises. The crisis communications group includes MIP’s representatives.
