MIP in JFO Zone: In Maksymilianivka Village Council, Ukrainian TV Channels Available
The Monitoring Mission of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has analysed television and radio broadcasting in Maksymilianivka Village Council of Marinka District, Donetsk Region.
“There are a few Ukrainian channels available, but quite a few ‘occupational’ ones. T2 receives only ‘DNR’, so people watch [TV] via satellite. Around half the inhabitants watch satellite TV. The Internet works well – we have both cable and wireless connection,” reports Oleksandr Bryhynets, the Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy on Broadcasting Renewal and Ukraine’s MP, who heads the Mission.
According to Viktoria Shvets, the secretary of the village council, people in Maksymilianivka use the Internet extensively and are looking forward to a new TV tower in Hirnyk.
It should be noted that during two years of the work of the Commission on Ensuring the Stable Broadcasting of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting System of Ukraine, three television towers have been constructed: in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast (5 December 2016), in Chonhar, Kherson Oblast (17 March 2017), and in Bakhmutivka, Luhansk Oblast (22 August 2017).
