MIP: Language Market, a Large-Scale Educational Festival, Held in Kyiv
On 15 September 2018, Language Market, a large-scale festival, was held in Khreshchatyk Street in downtown Kyiv.
The event, designed to promote studying foreign languages, was organised by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine and Lingva.Skills Project at the initiative of the Students’ Council under MIP.
“This is for the first time in Ukraine that such a large-scale educational project on foreign language learning has been organised at the students’ initiative. We are proud that there is a Students’ Council under the Ministry of Information Policy, which inspires us to do such things,” the Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine on International Communication, Maryna Sobotiuk, was quoted as saying.
As part of the festival, Ukraine 360 Project -- a spherical video about the most picturesque and interesting places of our country -- was presented.
Language Market saw the showings of “Djakuyu”, a short feature film, “The Kremlin’s Prisoners”, a documentary, and “Crimea. Resistance”, a docudrama, all produced by the order of MIP. It also featured lectures, workshops, presentations of language schools, a career fair, open-air film screenings, a concert, and other amusements.
As a matter of fact, an all-Ukrainian record of the most attended English lesson was achieved, with 520 people turning up.
