MIP: Fashion Show Featuring Ukraine NOW Brand to Take Place in Kyiv on Independence Day
On 24 August 2018, within the framework of marking the Independence Day of Ukraine, the SEREBROVA Spring/Summer 2019 INNER collection runway show will be held in Kyiv. The event will be supported by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine and feature Ukraine NOW, Ukraine’s single brand.
The show, set to begin at 6:30pm, will take place in the open in Baseina Street, the city centre.
“Ukraine’s brand has one very important key value, which we always highlight, -- its sheer openness. Anyone can use it, be they plain citizens, entrepreneurs or artists. Ukraine NOW is about all of us, the country of opportunities, energy, and startups. And we will support everything that shows Ukraine in this light. Fashion is the exact field which can truly present our country abroad,” said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, Artem Bidenko, at a press conference at Ukrinform on 21 August.
According to designer Aliona Serebrova, the collection features elements of Ukrainian folk art, Petrykivka painting. “The key idea of the collection is to show Ukraine as a trendy and modern country which remembers and values its roots but is here and now, going forward. That’s what our brand, Ukraine NOW, is about,” she added.
Anna-Mariia, a Ukrainian duet, will commence the fashion show with their performance. In addition, a photo exhibition of Valentyn Karminskyi’s works will take place at the event.
The organisation of the event is supported by Common Victory, a non-profit association, Kyiv City State Administration, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine.
