MIP: "Tvoia Kraina Fest" Takes Place in Kherson Region
On 1 July 2019, the II Ukrainian Music Festival “Tvoia Kraina Fest”, supported by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, took place in Skadovsk, the Kherson region.
Residents of and visitors to the resort town were treated to live performances by Foma, the bands “Mandry”, “Druha Rika”, “Gypsy Lyre”, Mariia Burmaka and Ivanka Chervinska. It was the sixth concert to take place within the framework of this-year festival “Tvoia Kraina Fest”.
“The key messages of the festival are that Ukraine is cool, the mother tongue is nice, and culture unites and not divides,” says Serhii Fomenko, frontman of the band “Mandry”.
Maryna Sobotiuk, the Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, stressed that the key idea of the festival is to promote the Ukrainian language through quality modern music in towns which popular Ukrainian artists often miss out in their tours.
On 4 July, the final concert of this-year festival is set to take place in Chornomorsk, the Odesa region.
Earlier, on 15 June 2019, the festival took place in Korosten, the Zhytomyr region; on 19 June, in Chernihiv; on 23 June, in Mukachevo, the Zakarpattia region; on 25 June, in Shostka, the Sumy region; and on 28 June, in Berdiansk, the Zaporizhzhia region.
