MIP: Ukrainian Music Festival "Tvoia Kraina Fest" Takes Place Close to Russian Border
On 25 June 2019, the II Ukrainian Music Festival “Tvoia Kraina Fest”, supported by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, took place in Shostka, the Sumy region.
Residents of the town, located close to the Russian border, were treated to live performances by Foma, the bands “Mandry”, “Druha Rika”, “Gypsy Lyre”, Mariia Burmaka and Ivanka Chervinska.
It was the fourth concert to take place within the framework of this-year festival “Tvoia Kraina Fest”.
“When young people take interest in songs, they find their lyrics on the Internet and learn them. We promote Ukrainian songs and, hence, the Ukrainian language,” says Maryna Sobotiuk, Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine on International Communication.
On 28 June, the festival is set to take place in Berdiansk, the Zaporizhzhia region; on 1 July, in Skadovsk, the Kherson region; on 4 July, in Chornomorsk, the Odesa region.
Earlier, on 15 June 2019, the festival took place in Korosten, the Zhytomyr region; on 19 June, in Chernihiv; and on 23 June, in Mukachevo, the Zakarpattia region.
