MIP: Ukraine's International Broadcasting TV Channel Presented in Belarus
On 15 March 2019, UA|TV, a TV channel of the International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine, which has become available in Belarusian cable networks since February of this year, was presented at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, Artem Bidenko, noted at the event that UA|TV is a Ukrainian state TV channel targeted at an international audience.
“News programmes on the channel are objective and unbiased. Its content is designed to get the world to know the truth about Ukraine,” the Ministry’s State Secretary was quoted as saying.
The event was attended by Liudmyla Berezovska, Director-General of the International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine; Ihor Kyzym, Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus; Belarusian government officials; members of the diplomatic corps and Belarusian NGOs; local, Ukrainian and foreign news media workers; leaders of Ukrainian communities in Belarus; and heads and workers of Belarusian cable operators.
On the same day, the Ukrainian delegation met with Alexander Karliukevich, Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus, and discussed the prospects of further cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus in the field of information and mass media.
