MIP Presents Communication Campaign "In the Profession, All Are Equal"
On 15 February 2019, a press conference was held at the press centre of Ukrinform news agency, presenting “In the Profession, All Are Equal,” a communication campaign of the Ministry of Information Policy.
The campaign includes three videoclips, designed to dismiss stereotypes of “feminine” and “masculine” professions and show Ukrainian that professionalism has no gender. The videos have been given the public social ad status and will be shown on national and regional TV channels, at cinema houses, and on the Internet.
“Equal opportunities in any profession is part of a great social and political process of achieving gender equality in Ukrainian society and shaping a new consensus as to equal opportunities for women. We call for equal opportunities. If a woman wants to be a fire fighter, she has to have such opportunities,” said Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine.
The information campaign is being held in support of the Council of Europe Gender Equality Strategy 2018-2023.
The press conference and the campaign are supported by the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, the Sub-Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Gender Equality and Non-Discrimination, the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy and Women’s Rights League “Harmony of the Equal.”
The campaign was designed by GoodMedia, a creative agency, by the order of the Ministry.
