On 23 October, "Crimea and Southern Ukraine: A Space of Cultures" Project to Be Presented

On 23 October 2018, a project “Crimea and Southern Ukraine: A Space of Cultures” will be presented at the press centre of Ukrinform news agency.

The project is designed to shape a new understanding of the history of southern Ukraine as a space where, from ancient times, peoples originated, states were created, and civilisations evolved. This understanding is meant to debunk the myth of “Novorossia”, an artificially imposed social construct, which is now being employed for propagandistic purposes to derail the situation in the country and expand Russian propagandistic efforts.

Organised by: Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine; Crimean Institute for Strategic Studies; QHA Crimean News Agency, Crimean Tatar Cultural and Sports Centre “Küreş”.

Speakers: Emine Dzhaparova, First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine; Arsen Zhumadilov, Chairman of the Board at the Crimean Institute for Strategic Studies, Kyiv; Anastasia Politiko, Head of the Department for Communications and Public Relations of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation; Akhmedi-Ernes Saryhalil, executive producer; Halina Dzhykaieva, director; Volodymyr Kushnirenko, academic adviser; Iryna Shevchuk, screenwriter; Ibrahim Suleimanov, head of “Küreş”, a charity based in Kherson; Rustem Halilov, editor-in-chief at QHA Crimean News Agency.
