MIP: Project on Establishing Horizontal Ties between Ukrainian Regions Presented
On 12 July 2018, a press conference titled ‘Strong Horizontal Ties As a Prerequisite for the State’s Strength’, was held at the Ukrinform press centre. The press conference was related to the results of a tour around Donbas of on-stage performance groups from Chernihiv Region administered by the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.
The tour, which was conducted at the invitation of the Chief Office of the National Police in Donetsk Region, was made possible by the NGO All-Ukrainian Initiative and with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
“It is not only conventional warfare that we have, but also information one. During the Soviet times, a number of generations grew up in Donbas which do not identify themselves with Ukraine. So we need to drive home to the local residents the message that Donbas is Ukraine,” the Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zhemchuhov, was quoted as saying.
The press conference was also attended by Oleksandr Levochko, director of the Department of Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration, and Yurii Kosenko, Chairman of the Board of the NGO All-Ukrainian Initiative.
The tour of Chernihiv on-stage performance groups took place on 4-7 July, encompassing Mariupol, Sartana, Volnovakha, and Mariinka.
