On July 5th, Press Conference ‘Promoting Ukraine in the World: Case Study of Djakuyu’ to Be Held

On 5 July 2018, at 10:00am, a press conference titled ‘Promoting Ukraine in the World: Case Study of Djakuyu’ will be held at the press centre of the news agency Ukrinform.

Participants: Artem Bidenko, State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine; Maryna Sobotiuk, Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine on International Communication; Dzen Evstigneykin, director of the Djakuyu film.

Additional information. Djakuyu, a short feature film, is about the adventures of a Japanese professor who gets lost in Ukraine but receives much pleasure from his trip. It shows Ukraine as an interesting, hospitable, and unique country with breathtaking landscapes and rich history. The film was produced by the Best Friends Film company by the order of MIP.

On 14 March 2018, Djakuyu was presented at the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan, and has also been screened in Kharkiv, Ostroh, and Lviv.

In April, Djakuyu won the ‘best editing’ nomination at the Romania-based monthly international film festival Short to the point.

In addition, Djakuyu was awarded second place in the ‘Tourism Destination – Region’ nomination at the 11th International Tourism Film Festival ‘Tourfilm Riga 2018’ in Riga, Latvia.

On May 18th, on the occasion of the Europe Day, the Students’ Council under MIP presented the film in eight Ukrainian universities.

On June 2nd, a special screening of Djakuyu was held within the framework of the 47th international film festival Molodist on Poshtova Square.

On June 20th, the short feature film Djakuyu was screened at the Independence Palace in Lisbon, Portugal.

On June 22nd, the film was shown within the framework of the 2nd International Short Film Festival BRUKIVKA in Kamianets-Podilskiy. Djakuyu won the Audience Award as the ‘best professional film’.
