MIP Presents Crimean Tatar Flag Day Communication Campaign
On 25 June 2018, a press conference titled ‘Presenting Events on Occasion of the Crimean Tatar Flag Day’ at Ukrinform’s press centre.
At the press conference, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine presented an All-Ukrainian communication campaign on the occasion of 26 June, the Crimean Tatar Flag Day.
The campaign includes boards and citylights to be placed in Kyiv and the regions and a thematic videoclip to be circulated on national television channels as public social advertising.
“For the third year in a row, we have been systematically supporting the marking of this memorable date within the framework of Crimea’s information reintegration. As earlier, our campaign will be carried out under the motto ‘Two Flags, One Country’. This communication campaign, as well as other events, is our opportunity to keep in touch with occupied Crimea, where the Crimean Tatar flag, and the Ukrainian one as well, is non grata”, the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, was quoted as saying.
The press conference was also attended by Ilmi Umerov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and Eskender Bariev, Chairman of Board of the Crimean Tatar Resourse Centre, an NGO. They spoke about the events planned to mark the Crimean Tatar National Flag Day in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
In particular, tomorrow, on 26 June, a car rally, a solemn procession, a meeting on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, and a holiday concert are to be held in Ukraine’s capital city.
