Dzhaparova: Hybrid Information Warfare Requires New Interdisciplinary Approaches to Training Diplomats
On 17 May 2018, the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, participated in the international scientific symposium titled ‘Interdisciplinarity in International Relations: Theory, Methodology, Practice’. The event was held at the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
“In the event of hybrid warfare and transformations of the global security system the role of communication is especially important. International relations and the training of professional diplomats cannot but include new branches of knowledge and practices and has to be interdisciplinary. Strategic, crisis, government communications, awareness and high-quality work with content are what should be the basis for the training of Ukrainian diplomats,” Ms Dzhaparova was quoted as saying.
The event was also attended by Valerii Kopiyka, Director of the Institute of International Relations; Serhiy Pyrozhkov, Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Anatolii Solovei, Director of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine; Oleksandr Kypchyshyn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine; Manoj Kumar Bharti, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Ukraine, etc.
