MIP in JFO Zone: In Bilozerske City Council, Ukrainian Channels Available Via Cable Network
The Monitoring Mission of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has analyzed television and radio broadcasting in Bilozerske City Council of the city of Dobropillia, Donetsk Region.
According to Viktoriia Shott, the city council’s secretary, the city is completely covered by cable network. “This is the best way to counter information aggression and disseminate Ukrainian TV channels,” she added.
The prices for cable television are more than affordable: the ten-channel social package costs UAH 30 per month, and the 68-channel full package UAH 70 a month.
“The development of cable television in regions which are difficult in terms of information is a good way to work it out,” notes Oleksandr Bryhynets, the Adviser to the Minister on Broadcasting Renewal and Ukraine’s MP, who heads the Monitoring Mission.
It should be noted that during two years of the work of the Commission on Ensuring the Stable Broadcasting of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting System of Ukraine, three television towers have been constructed: in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast (5 December 2016), in Chonhar, Kherson Oblast (17 March 2017), and in Bakhmutivka, Luhansk Oblast (22 August 2017).
