MIP: Winners of XXI International Competition for School Media Awarded in Mykolaiv
On 27 April 2018, Artem Bidenko, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, participated in the award ceremony of the XXI International Competition for School Media in Mykolaiv.
“We consider our work a necessity to serve. The state must not impede-- it must support and assist civil initiatives. Then, the state and society will be stronger, and what we proclaim – European values, the way to Europe – will become a reality,” MIP’s State Secretary stressed when speaking to the winners.
The young competitors were also welcomed by Volodymyr Krylenko, the first deputy mayor of Mykolaiv; Lina Kushch, the first secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine; Ihor Brychenko, Ukraine’s MP; Serhiy Bondur, a representative of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine; journalists, civil activists and other honourable guests.
In total, 26 winners were awarded in 22 nominations.
In 2018, 2,032 works were submitted to the competition. For the 21 years of the competition, more than 30,000 works from Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Greece, Spain, Czechia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Pakistan, Senegal, and Egypt have been submitted.
