MIP: ‘Ukraine-NATO. Security Formula’ Exhibition Opened in Khmelnytskyi
On April 26th, the moving exhibition ‘Ukraine-NATO. Security Formula’, organized with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, was opened at the Khmelnytskyi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The exhibition was presented by Barbara Maronkova, the Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre, and Volodymyr Stavnichuk, the Head of the Sector for the Promotion of Ukraine in the World.
“Our paramount aim is to communicate to the public in all regions of Ukraine that close cooperation with NATO is a prerequisite for Ukraine’s safe future,” Mr Stavnichuk was quoted as saying.
Ms Maronkova added that it was extremely important that stereotypes of Soviet propaganda that NATO is an enemy should be altered. “In reality, NATO is a way towards collective security,” she added.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration and of local self-government, civil activists and students. Nataliia Beliakova, President of the Khmelnytskyi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, acted as moderator.
The exhibition ‘Ukraine-NATO. Security Formula’ is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Charter on a Distinctive Partnership between Ukraine and NATO. It was set up with the support of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre.
