MIP: Yurydychna Sotnia Presents 2017 Report
On 3 April 2018, NGO Yurydychna Sotnia presented a report on its activity in 2017 at the press centre of Ukrainian National News Agency Ukrinform.
According to Lesia Vasylenko, the Head of the NGO and a member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, in 2017 the organization focused on such tasks as raising awareness of military servicemen and ATO veterans of their rights and social safeguards, providing legal aid, preparing analytical materials on the upholding of rights of ATO participants, as well as reforming legislation in the field of military servicemen social security.
For instance, during the previous year, Yurydychna Sotnia processed 18,952 hot line calls, printed out 20,000 booklets for ATO participants and 10,000 booklets for ATO veterans, drew up two analytical reports, 14 analytical materials, six regulatory documents, and 13 reviews of laws.
Among key tasks for 2018, Vasylenko singled out such as drafting materials for the establishment of a Ministry for Veterans, designing new booklets for ATO participants, strengthening cooperation with bodies of state power, and setting up educational projects for ATO veterans.
The Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine was represented by Oleksii Tarabukin, the Head of the Sector for Strategic Communications.
MIP pledges to further support its partners from the public sector and expressed its gratitude to the members of NGO Yurydychna Sotnia for their diligent and selfless work in the field of military servicemen social security.
