MIP: As Regards Occupied Territories, We Are Working on Ukrainian TV Programmes Content
On December 26th, the round table talk The Situation with the Information Space of Donetsk Oblast: Challenges and Prospects was held at the news agency Ukrinform.
In her speech, First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova stressed that along with the occupation of territory, the occupation of conscience is taking place, technically at the expense of Ukrainian resources: TV towers, radio and TV frequencies. “Now the key question is the quality of Ukrainian content. We need to debunk Russian myths being imposed now, which say that Donbas has always been a Russian land. “Therefore, the Ministry is planning to film a series on a military theme, and soon a series of programs titled People of Ukrainian Donbas will be broadcast,” Dzhaparova said.
In his speech, Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Dmytro Tkachenko recalled that the aggression had already been lasting for three years. Nearly three million Ukrainian citizens live in the occupied territories. “Practically, they are in information isolation, as only the collaborationist regime, that is the Kremlin, has the right of the truth there,” Tkachenko said.
