MIP Holds 'Cyborgs' Premiere Screening
On 6 December 2017, on the Ukrainian Armed Forces Day, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine held the premiere screening of the film ‘Cyborgs,’ directed by Akhtem Seitablaiev. The film is devoted to one of the most heroic moments of our struggle for the Independence, the defence of the Donetsk airport.
The event was attended by the President of Ukraine, Vice Prime Ministers and Ministers of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, members of the diplomatic corps, heads of central bodies of executive power, opinion leaders, etc.
Opening the event, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said: “It is symbolic that the premiere screening of ‘Cyborgs,’ the film, based on real events and created in cooperation with heroic warriors, was set for the Ukrainian Armed Forces Day.” The President added that the power of the film was in the truth, which is on our side, and thanked Akhtem Seitablaiev, the film’s director, for the great film.
“I thank the entire team, led by the director Akhtem Seitablaiev, which worked on the film. But we must thank, first of all, our defenders and, personally, our cyborgs. It is thanks to you that Ukraine was, is and will be!” he added.
The President also gave the director the Order of Merit.
After seeing the film, Yuriy Stets, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, commented that everyone, and not only the Ukrainian, must watch the film. “Yes, the film is not allowed to be seen for those under 12, but this restriction shouldn’t be conditional. “‘Cyborgs’ features events taking place now, and you cannot and need not hide away from them since there is no escaping reality,” the Minister said.
Akhtem Seitablaiev, the actor, director, head of the state enterprise ‘Crimean House,’ addressed from the stage to the public and congratulated the attendees on the Ukrainian Armed Forces Day.
“That we have the opportunity to get up, see our kids, drink coffee, hug our parents every day, that is all thanks to you (Ukrainian defenders. – Ed.). May God protect us,” he said.
The screening was organized by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
Please be reminded that earlier, the Ministry had presented the initiative of the film’s creative group, #ЯНебайдужий (#IDoCare): watch the film and 5 hryvnias you paid for you ticket will be given to the fund for families of those who died in the ATO zone.
