500 Years of the Reformation
Within the framework of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has prepared an information video clip on this topic.
The Reformation is the Catholic religious, social and political movement of renewal in Western and Central European countries in the 16th century. With the aim of returning the pre-biblical sources of Christianity, the movement assumed the form of religious struggle against the Catholic Church and Papal supremacy.
In its broadest sense, ‘reformation’ means renewal, transformation or reorganization, resuming or restoring the previous but improved state (of an institution, society, or state).
The Reformation is associated with the names of Martin Luther, John Calvin and Huldrych Zwingli, and is called the Protestant, Lutheran or Evangelical Reformation.
