Government Approves 2017 Action Plan for the Implementation of the Communication Strategy for the Prevention and Suppression of Corruption

On 18 October 2017, the 2017 Action Plan for the Implementation of the Communication Strategy for the Prevention and Suppression of Corruption, submitted by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, was approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Yurii Stets, Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, notes that the Plan provides for both the introduction of the system of monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of anti-corruption communications and the prioritization of anti-corruption communications in the work of central bodies of executive power.

“This will be a completely open activity of state bodies, regular public accountability to the media, namely on the anti-corruption topic.

“Also, special workshops on how to promptly present information on the part of the institution are envisaged. Every journalist will be able to receive commentary in the nick of time,” the Minister comments.

Please be reminded that on 23 August 2017, the Communications Strategy for the Prevention of and Fight Against Corruption, submitted by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, was approved at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Strategy's aim is to shape effective and systemic communication work with the society in matter of preventing and fighting corruption.

It was drawn up by the interagency working group on the coordination of the anti-corruption reform with the active participation of non-governmental anti-corruption organizations.
