MIP: TV tower for broadcasting towards Crimea was constructed in Chonhar
Today, on 25 January, the construction of a radio and TV transmitting station was completed in the village of Chonhar in Kherson region. The height of the new tower is 150 meters; the installation of the equipment is in the process.
This was reported by Serhiy Kostynskyi, a member of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine. According to Kostynskyi, since the start of February a signal of the Ukrainian radio stations such as the First channel of Ukrainian radio Meydan, Radio Crim.Realities, Kherson FM will be directed to the Crimea. The next stage is an organization of digital television.
"The construction period of the tower took about 2 months. The rest of the time, in particular about 9 months, was dedicated to the work on an estimate and international coordination of radio frequencies, the allocation of land, competition for radio frequencies", - said Serhiy Kostynskyi.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine Artem Bidenko said: "By efforts of the investors and the Kherson regional state administration and thanks to the coordinated work of state agencies TV tower for broadcasting towards Crimea was promptly installed. This event is another step towards successful information reintegration of the peninsula".
Recall the construction of the tower took place in the framework of the implementation of the Strategy on the development of broadcasting in Kherson region and broadcasting organization on the territory of Crimea in 2016 - 2017. 2 December 2016, a ceremony of laying the first block for the construction of the TV and radio tower in the village of Chonhar took place. The project on the construction of the TV tower involved the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs, the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the Kherson regional state administration, the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies, NPBCU, and investor "TV networks of Ukraine".
