Yurii Stets: "Mission for next year is to build three more towers in Luhansk and Donetsk regions"

5 December 2016, the official opening of the TV tower on the mount Karachun with the participation of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets and other officials took place in Sloviansk.

After the tower's launch, the height of which is 184,41 meters and the radius of coverage is about 63 km, Petro Poroshenko got acquainted with the configuration of TV transmitters in the control room of the broadcasting tower, which will broadcast 10 national and 4 local channels.

President Petro Poroshenko said that the broadcast of the Ukrainian TV and radio will be restored on the entire territory of Ukraine to provide also residents of the occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the opportunity to watch Ukrainian television channels.

According to the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets, the residents of temporarily occupied territories, including in Horlivka, will be able to watch and hear the Ukrainian TV channels and radio stations after the introduction of this tower.

"Mission for next year is to build three more towers in Luhansk and Donetsk regions under the condition of allocating funds from the state budget", - the Minister added.

Note that for today, after the renewal of radio and television transmitting station's work, the retransmission of 14 planned analog channels' television programs and 13 radio programs has been launched, the full maintenance and operation of communication networks have been provided, as well as satellite and terrestrial broadcasting on the territory of Donetsk region. In particular, the "First National", "Inter", BC "Ukraina", "Novyi kanal", "1 + 1", "STB", "5 Kanal" and others are available in the test mode for the residents of Donetsk region.

Recall, the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine carries out constant monitoring in ATO zone. To this end, the monitoring mission, headed by Oleksandr Brygynets (MP of Ukraine), the Advisor to the Minister, operates on-site. Analytical data obtained on the monitoring results are submitted to the Commission on the broadcasting renewal, which discusses the ways of solving existing problems, and MIP introduces the legislative initiatives on this basis. This allows making the right steps towards the restoration of the Ukrainian broadcasting with the participation of all concerned bodies in the state.
